Jacob W. Backus Named JCC Athlete of the Week
Watertown, NY—Freshman midfielder, Jacob W. Backus, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) men’s soccer team, was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending November 1, 2009. JCC’s athlete of the week program is sponsored by Victory Promotions. Jacob, a 2008 graduate of Lyme Central School, is majoring in business administration at Jefferson. Backus’s accomplishments on the field this past season include leading the team in goals and assists for the 2009 season and JCC’s first NJCAA Division III Regional III appearance in 8 years. His consistent play helped propel the program to another level.
