McAuliffe and Gaines Named JCC Co-Athletes of the Week
Watertown, NY – Freshman attack, Sean M. McAuliffe, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) men’s lacrosse team and sophomore pitcher, Eliza J. Gaines, of the JCC women’s softball team were named JCC co-athletes for the week ending March 31, 2008. JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Victory Promotions. McAuliffe, a 2007 graduate of Watertown High School, is majoring in criminal justice at Jefferson. Sean’s accomplishments on the field during the past week include 4 goals and 2 assists against Delaware Community College, 5 goals and 3 assists against Montgomery Community College, and 3 goals and 2 assists against Broome Community College. Gaines is a 2003 graduate of Copenhagen Central School who is majoring in business administration at Jefferson. Eliza’s accomplishments on the field during the past week include a no-hitter against Clark State Community College, she pitched 32 innings with a 2.03 ERA and she had 44 strikeouts. She finished the week 2-2. On offense she went 17-33, with 7 RBI’s and a batting average of .515.
