Gallery featured Artist: Christine P. Sullivan thru Feb. 22

Through February 22, The Gallery at Jefferson Community College (JCC) will feature works created by Sackets Harbor artist Christine P. Sullivan. The Gallery is located on the second level of the Jules Center (Building 6) and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. when classes are in session.

Born in Canada, Ms. Sullivan studied visual arts and attended the University of Ottawa. In 1993, she moved to the United States where today she calls Sackets Harbor home. Her inspiration comes from architecture and landscape as a result of living in various locations throughout Europe and the United States. Ms. Sullivan’s oil paintings reflect her focus on perspective and light with some pieces replicating local venues.

In June 2007, Ms. Sullivan was recognized as artist of the month in Sackets Harbor by the Arts Association of Northern New York. Prior to that, she was awarded first place in the Best of Oils/Acrylic category at the Arts Association of Northern New York 2006 Summer Show. Much of Ms. Sullivan’s work is commissioned, most notably, a painting she created for the Commanding General at Fort Drum.

The Gallery at Jefferson is sponsored by the Jefferson Community College Social Cultural Committee.
