The Jefferson Community College choir, the Jefferson Singers, will present their spring concert themed "Beatlemania: A Celebration of the Genius of the Beatles" on Thursday, May 1st at 7:00 p.m. in Sturtz Theater at JCC. The College choir is under the direction of associate professor, Dr. Lisa M. Scrivani-Tidd.
The Jefferson Singers will perform a choral revue consisting of the music of John Lennon and Paul McCartney including Can't Buy Me Love, Penny Lane, Yellow Submarine, Good Night, And I Love Her, Let It Be, Ticket to Ride, Hey Jude, The Fool on the Hill, Drive My Car and more. Choir members will perform an assortment of choral music and vocal solos consisting of music from the early, mid, and late styles of one of the most influential popular music groups of all time, the Beatles.
The Jefferson Singers is a credit-bearing humanities music course at JCC. It is a mixed chorus comprised of students from all majors on campus; advanced music students pursuing a career in music perform alongside non-music majors who enjoy singing and performing. The course is open to all students on campus, and the ensemble regularly performs on and off campus in the Jefferson community.
