Sophomore left-handed pitcher Tate Kelly, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) baseball team, and sophomore first baseman Stacey L. Finley, of the JCC softball team, were named JCC co-athletes of the week for the week ending April 21, 2008. JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Victory Promotions.

Kelly, a 2006 graduate of Trevor Day High School, New York, NY, is majoring in liberal arts at JCC. Tate’s accomplishments on the field during the past week include pitching a complete game victory over Corning Community College. He allowed 4 hits, 2 unearned runs, walked 3 batters, and struck out 9, winning 13-2. He won his next start in Plattsburgh against Clinton Community College 10-2. Tate pitched 6 innings allowing only 6 hits, 1 walk, and 8 strikeouts. Tate improved his record to 4-2 and is one of the Region III leaders in strikeouts per innings pitched.
Finley, a 2005 graduate of Indian River Central School, is majoring in early childhood education at Jefferson. Stacey’s accomplishments on the field this past week include on offense a batting average of .529, 13 RBIs, 5 extra base hits, 16 runs scored, and 0 errors on defense.
