The Jefferson Community College Foundation announces the 2008 candidates for the Jefferson-Can Scholars Program Scholarships. Students in the top 15% of high schools in Jefferson and Lewis County are eligible for the awards, which provide up to full-tuition scholarships for the first year at JCC, after all other financial aid is applied. This year, 44 students were accepted into the program, and are eligible to attend tuition-free for their first year of study at the College. The program is funded through gifts to the Foundation’s annual fund and support of its various events. A major gift was also received from a 1980 JCC alumnus, Stephen H. Can and from a local corporation. For more information about the program, contact Rande S. Richardson, JCC Foundation executive director at 786-2291.
