JCC Athletes of the Week
Watertown, NY—Sophomore pitcher, Blair K. Kiernan, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) women’s softball team; sophomore mid-fielder, Thomas D. Shaw, of the JCC men’s lacrosse team; sophomore attack, Maria A. Martusewicz, of the JCC women’s lacrosse team; and sophomore right-handed golfer, Gregory M. Urbanowicz, of the JCC golf team were named JCC athletes of the week for the week ending April 27, 2009. JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Victory Promotions.
Blair K. Kiernan
Kiernan, a 2007 graduate of Copenhagen Central, is majoring in humanities and social sciences at Jefferson. Kiernan’s accomplishments on the field this past week include going 2-0 on the mound. Blair pitched 8 innings earning a 10-8 victory against Genesee Community College and she pitched 7 innings earning a 9-5 victory against Fulton-Montgomery.
Thomas D. Shaw
Shaw, a 2007 graduate of Lowville Academy, is majoring in humanities and social science at Jefferson. Tom’s accomplishments on the field this past week include 6 goals, 8 assists against Cayuga Community College, SUNY Alfred, and SUNY Delhi.
Maria A. Martusewicz
Martusewicz, a 2007 graduate of Watertown High, is majoring in business administration at Jefferson. Maria’s accomplishments on the field this past week 7 goals, 3 assists against Herkimer County Community College and Monroe Community College.
Greogory M. Urbanowicz
Urbanowicz, a 2007 graduate of Sackets Harbor, is majoring in childhood education at Jefferson. Greg’s accomplishments on the course this past week include winning the Jefferson 2009 Invitational with a score of 74.
