Jefferson Community College (JCC) encourages veterans to take advantage of the recently revised Veterans Tuition Award (VTA) by New York State Higher Education Services Corporation. Formerly, veterans attending college full-time were awarded a maximum amount of $1000 a semester and $500 a semester if attending college part-time. With New York State expanding benefits, veterans attending college both full-time and part-time will be awarded full tuition. This means eligible veterans can attend JCC tuition free!
Eligible veterans must be matriculated (enrolled) in a degree program. They include United States citizens residing in New York State who have been discharged from the U.S. Armed forces under honorable conditions and are:
Veterans must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application in addition to a Veterans Tuition Supplement form that is required for the VTA. The Veterans Tuition Supplement form is available online at www.hesc.org or by calling the JCC financial aid office at 315-786-2355.
