Career Opportunities
This Certificate Program provides students with foundation-level college coursework and allows the flexibility for students to investigate future career options through elective courses.
The Program
The General Studies Certificate is intended to serve three groups of students. First, students who have the ability to benefit from higher education but do not possess a high school diploma would be able to access foundation-level college coursework through this Certificate program. Upon successful completion of this program, a student may apply to the New York State Education Department for a high school general equivalency diploma (GED). Secondly, students who need foundation-level college coursework prior to entering a specific course of study such as Nursing or Engineering Science would benefit from this skill building program. Finally, students who are undecided about a future course of study may utilize this Certificate to explore career options.
This Certificate program is also intended to be offered with the full complement of student services to ensure success.

All certificate requirements and courses listed are effective Fall of 2009 and are subject to change.
