So you had a bad semester, don’t let it define your college experience! Do something about it!

This web page is designed for you to get back into good academic standing. You have fallen below the 2.0 GPA benchmark and course completion rate that is necessary to earn a degree from Jefferson Community College.

What do you have to know and do to get back into Good Academic Standing?

  1. Take this seriously. Very Seriously! 
  2. Follow your disciplinary action and complete any tasks necessary to stay in college. You need assistance from one of the many JCC services so call 786-2288 to make an appointment today.

DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS

You are on Academic Warning – the first level of Academic Discipline.  You are required to attend a mandatory workshop in order to stay at College.  Sign up for a workshop now! ------->

The box below shows the sequence of Academic discipline you can expect if you don’t change the way you approach your academic work and complete your semester course work with C, B, or A grades.

SEQUENTIAL ACADEMIC DISCIPLINARY STAGES 

Academic Warning 
(First Semester Below 2.0 GPA)

Academic Probation 
(Below 2.0 GPA)

Academic Dismissal 
(Below 2.0)
FINAL

Level One:  Below a 1.5 GPA

Required Mandatory College Professional Meeting.

If GPA is below a 2.0 the semester after being placed on academic warning, the student is then placed on academic probation.

Required to file Academic Success Plan with Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA)

If GPA is below 2.0 the semester after being placed on academic probation, the student is then academically dismissed for the following semester.

Level Two:  At or above a 1.5 GPA – Strongly Advised College Professional Meeting.

 

Student has right to an appeal if there had been a documented hardship during the semester. This is for extraordinary cases.  (blank academic appeal form)
