A notary public of the common law is a public officer constituted by law to serve the public in non-contentious matters usually concerned with general financial transactions, estates, deeds, powers-of-attorney, and foreign and international business.
NYS Notary Public Law Refresher
This course reviews and updates the current New York notary laws. The current 22 page NY Notary Law Booklet will be reviewed and highlighted with the new electronic notarization information and notary journal recordkeeping protocols. This presentation is a must for every commissioned NY notary to properly execute their authority, duties and responsibilities. Examples, using real life scenarios will be used to explain situations that a Notary Public officer is likely to encounter. Topics include an overview on how to avoid conflicts of interest, legal ethics, allowable fees and addressing special situations. All materials will be provided including a website link to the NYS Department of State licensing information, a 46 page Notary Review Guidebook with current glossary terms. Updated sample forms will also be reviewed.
Instructor
Victor Bujanow, CIC, CNSA has been a practicing Notary Public, a Certified Notary Signing Agent, licensed Insurance Broker and a member of the American Society of Notaries for over 25 years. In addition to the Notary Public Workshops he is an adjunct instructor at several SUNY Community Colleges, Insurance Continuing Education Instructor and a Certified Defensive Driving Instructor for Empire Safety Council of NY.
