A first-time college student must meet academic and financial guidelines to be considered for EOP admission.
Applicants entering Jefferson who previously attended another institution are eligible for EOP only if they are residents of New York State and have been enrolled in a similar post-secondary opportunity program such as EOP, HEOP, SEEK, or College Discovery.
Verification of previous status is required. To request EOP verification from a previous college, print and return the EOP Transfer Applicant Information Sheet
Currently Attending Students and Students Re-entering JCC
Students are eligible for EOP only if they were previously admitted to Jefferson as EOP students.
How To Apply
All applicants should complete the Jefferson Community College Application on-line and answer the appropriate question to indicate your interest in EOP. This will begin the process for program consideration. Academic eligibility is determined by the campus and is based on the applicant's high school records, standardized test scores (SAT, ACT) and the college's placement test scores. First-time college students must meet both academic and income guidelines. Priority is given to applicants from historically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Applicants who meet the academic eligibility requirements and have been accepted to the college will receive instructions on how to access the EOP Supplemental Application and program requirements to further determine eligibility. Interviews (in-person or by phone) are required. The interview gives you an opportunity to learn more about EOP and have all of your questions answered.
Students accepted to Jefferson Community College are not automatically accepted to EOP.
