EOP Checklist

EOP Applicant Checklist

       Complete the Jefferson Community College application

  • Apply for a Federal PIN Number at
  • Complete and submit a FAFSA (Federal PELL) application at
     as soon as possible.  Jefferson’s Federal School Code is 002870
  • Complete and submit a New York State TAP application at
    as soon as possible.  Jefferson’s NYTAP code is 2220
  • Provide all income documentation to our Financial Aid Office
  • Complete and submit an autobiography to our EOP Office by June 1st
  • Complete a personal interview/class schedule with an EOP counselor before classes begin
  • Confirm and Attend both required EOP and Freshman Orientations (tentatively scheduled to begin in August, more info to follow)
  • Enroll full-time (12-16 credit hours) including the INT 102 course
  • Obtain your official class schedule
  • Verify your EOP book money amount with our EOP Office before purchasing your books
  • Purchase your textbooks after participation in the EOP Orientation

Educational Opportunity Program Expectations '16-'17

  • Offered to matriculated FULL-TIME STUDENTS ONLY
  • Students must attend all of their classes each semester
  • New Students must meet with their EOP counselor for scheduled appointments. Continuing students in good standing are required to meet monthly or as specified by their EOP counselor
  • Students must attend schedule retention meetings and enrichment programming
  • Students must not withdraw from any courses without consulting with an EOP counselor, advisor, or administrator
  • Students must respond to correspondence received from the EOP office
  • Students must attend tutoring sessions unless otherwise specified an EOP advisor
  • Students must sign a student contract which outlines their responsibilities while participating in EOP
  • Failure to uphold the student’s responsibilities can result in removal from the program
