Jefferson Foundation Special Events

The JCC Foundation is pleased to present opportunities for Jefferson’s supporters to come together to celebrate the best that the College has to offer.  Among the yearly events are:

  • Annual Scholars Reception

The Jefferson Gala is the signature fundraising event for the Jefferson Community College Foundation.  An elegant evening celebrating the best of Jefferson Community College, it will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, from 8:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m.

The Gala is a new event, but it builds on a significant history.  For 28 years, Watertown enjoyed the annual Mayor’s Ball, which raised funds for the Jefferson Community College Foundation and partner nonprofit organizations.  The Foundation wishes to thank the founders of the Mayor’s Ball, T. Urling and Mabel Walker, whose generosity and civic-mindedness established the must-attend event as a way to support worthy local agencies.  The JCC Foundation began presenting the Mayor’s Ball in 1984.

The transformation of the Ball into the Jefferson Gala is an opportunity to affirm the generosity of our community.  There has been tremendous support for the Foundation and this event in the past—from sponsors to table hosts to community partner agencies to volunteers to attendees—many people have helped to make the Ball successful year after year.

The generous spirit of the North Country is already evident in the plans for this year’s Gala.  The dynamic committee of volunteers is planning a fun evening that showcases JCC’s students, faculty and facilities.  The honorary co-chairs of the event are Deb and Tim McAtee.  Sponsorship opportunities are still available.  Please contact the JCC Foundation at 315-786-2291 to become a sponsor.
