Smoking Cessation, Step by Step

Over half of all Americans who ever smoked have quit and so can you!  However, smoking is more than just a physical addiction – it’s part of your daily habits, coping strategies and social interactions.  All of these things make it difficult to quit on your own.  This is why Jefferson Community College helps you get connected to quit resources to support you through the smoking cessation process.

Having a friend, family member or co-worker quit with you increases the chances of successfully quitting smoking for both of you. Having support during quitting increases the chances of quitting by about 5 times.  Adding medications for quitting increases your chance of success even more.

Quitting smoking is hard and may require several attempts.  JCC students are encouraged to begin the process to quit smoking, by checking out the following supportive resources:
