Work Study Positions

Student Activities Center - Customer Service Associate

General Function: Work as office support for the various professionals and student positions in the office. Special consideration will be given to individuals who have computer experiences.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Answer multi-line telephones, take accurate messages and/or dispense information
  • Schedule appointments
  • Operate cash register
  • Provide customer service
  • Type (on computer and typewriter)
  • File documents
  • Hang posters; update bulletin boards
  • Sort and disburse mail
  • Pick-up and delivery
  • Make copies and overheads
  • Send faxes
  • Prepare mailings
  • Make telephone calls for various projects
  • Order supplies
  • Handle general office duties

Supervisor: Reports to SAC office manager

Hours: Academic years- 8-12 weekly, Summer- 15-30 weekly, Vacations and holidays- TBA

Compensation: Minimum wage

Appointment: Academic year, part-time, per diem

Requirements for Student Employment:

Education

  • Required-Part-time enrollment at Jefferson Community College
  • Preferred-Full-time enrollment at Jefferson Community College
  • Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0

Special consideration shall be given to students who qualify for the Federal Work Study Program.
