Workshops & Seminars for Personal Enrichment

To learn more about specific workshops or to register, call JCC Continuing Education at 315-786-2233 or complete and fax the registration form. Don’t wait to register - Jefferson will cancel workshops with insufficient enrollment five days prior to the scheduled start date. Members of AUSA are entitled to a $5.00 discount off any non-credit workshop. An AUSA membership card must be presented at time of discount.

Physical Conditioning & Wellness
The McGrann Fitness Center at JCC offers state of the art fitness equipment, with personal attention to individual’s needs and fitness goals. Participants will receive orientation on fitness equipment, optional physical fitness testing, a body composition test and written exercise program upon request. Participants are welcome to sign up each semester.  Call 786-2338 or 786-2232for an orientation appt.(CED 607 701)

Healing through the Chakras 
The word “chakra” is Sanskrit for wheel or disk and signifies one of seven basic energy centers in the body. Explore the significance of the seven chakras and how the chakras play a role in mental, physical, emotional and spiritual healing. Healing modalities to be explored: meditation, visualization, affirmation, lifeforce control techniques, Hatha yoga stretches, breathing methods and emotional processing. The instructor has a Masters in transpersonal psychology as well as consciousness studies.  Loose, comfortable clothing recommended. (CED 699 701)

Staging Your Home to Sell
Put more money into your pocket after learning some fun and easy ways to stage your home to sell. Learn where to start, what is important to potential homebuyers, and what NOT to do. COOKING SERIES

Jefferson’s cooking and baking workshops are taught by the best!  Janet “Boo” Wells owns her own catering business, Farmhouse Kitchen, and is an adjunct instructor at Jefferson. She is also the visiting chef for Jefferson’s Table. Cathy Gallagher is a graduate of Jefferson and owns her own business, Desserts by Design.  In addition to being an adjunct instructor at JCC, Cathy is also the dessert chef at Sboro’s Restaurant.

Gourmet Meals in Minutes

ARTS & CRAFTS SERIES

Tile Glazing
If you bring your creativity and willingness to learn something new and fun, JCC will provide the clay, glazes and instruction for this workshop! Learn how to hand-build clay objects such as bowls and tiles. The glaze forms a hard, nonporous surface that is easily cleaned.  (CED 427 701)

Figure Drawing

Chain Maille Jewelry Making
