The LSC employs professional tutors providing assistance in math, writing, reading, test-taking strategies, test anxiety, time management, and note taking. To make an appointment with a professional tutor, call or stop by the LSC.
MATH: LSC Specialists help students with problems from arithmetic to calculus. Students who literally do not know where to begin, students who regularly get "stuck" while problem solving, and students with an occasional question can benefit from the math specialists' help. The LSC also offers a math lab during which students can come into the LSC for assistance with math homework without an appointment.
WRITING: LSC Specialists assist students with assignments ranging from writing mechanics (grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure) to essays, themes, and critiques. This assistance is available for writing assignments from any course and at any stage of the writing process, from brainstorming for ideas through drafting and revising to final editing.
READING/STUDY SKILLS: LSC Specialists are also available to assist students with reading comprehension, test-taking strategies, test anxiety, time management and note taking.
