Located on 90 acres near the intersection of Interstate 81 and Coffeen Street (Exit 46), there are eight main buildings, well-maintained athletic fields, and ample parking. Directions to the campus are also available.

Campus Buildings

Jefferson Campus Map
  • The Samuel Guthrie Building (2), contains classroom and laboratory space for physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, geology, mathematics, nursing, and paramedic including electronically-smart classrooms and amphitheater. This building also houses the Center for Community Studies, Purchasing and Facilities departments.
  • The John Foster Dulles Building (3) contains office technology and accounting labs as well as several general purpose classrooms including two smart classroons and the offices of the business faculty, and the Faculty-Student Association.
  • The Melvil Dewey Library Building (5) is the home of the College's collection of print materials, and a Media Center for non-print materials and the Local History Collection. The Library has twenty-six Internet Stations available for use by students and community members. The College Computer Center, Instructional Technology, the College's Distance Learning Center, the networking techology lab and the Liberal Arts departments and faculty offices are also located here.
  • The James McVean College Center Building (4) houses a large, multipurpose gymnasium, including locker rooms, showers, and offices. The building provides space for student activities and development and houses the health office, the Walker Instructional kitchen and dining room, cafeteria, fitness center, dance studio, study lounges and the 500-seat Sturtz Theater.
  • The Robert Lansing Administration Building (1) is the administrative center of the College and houses the offices of the President and the deans.

Henderson Child Care Center (8) was completed in the fall of 1990 and accommodates up to 40 children, ages 18 months to 5 years in three classrooms.
  • The College's newest building, the Jules Center (6), houses 12 general (including 5 smart classrooms) and 5 computer classrooms, a 130-seat amphitheater which is equipped as an "electronically smart" classroom with state-of-the-art technology, a 75 station open access computer resource center, and the College's business and industry training center. The Scanlon Learning Skills Center, the Advising Center, and the Counseling Center are housed in this building as well as the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, the Bursar, the College Registrar and the College Store.
  • Extensive athletic fields near the College Center provide an archery range, baseball diamond, lacrosse field, soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts, and a putting green.



Directions to the Campus

The College campus, in Watertown, NY. (more maps), is near the intersection of Interstate 81 and Coffeen Street (Exit 46).

From Utica/Albany and points East:
Take I90 West to exit 36, 81N/Watertown. Follow 81N to Exit 46, Coffeen Street. Turn right onto Coffeen Street. Turn left at the first light.

From Buffalo/Rochester and points West:
Take I90 East to exit 36, 81N/Watertown. Follow 81N to Exit 46, Coffeen Street. Turn right onto Coffeen Street. Turn left at the first light.

From Syracuse (Hancock Airport) and points South:
Take 81N to Exit 46, Coffeen Street. Turn right onto Coffeen Street. Turn left at the first light.

From points North:

  • From Rte 11: Take Rte 11S to Rte 342. Turn right onto Rte 342. Take Rte 342 to 81S. Follow 81S to Exit 46, Coffeen Street. Turn left onto Coffeen Street. Go over the bridge over 81. Turn left at the second light.

  • From Rte 3: Take Rte 3E into Watertown. Turn Right onto Rte 3S, State Street. Follow Rte 3S, State Street. Bear right in the traffic circle (Public Square) following the signs for Rte 3. Turn right onto Massey Street. Turn left at the first light, Coffeen Street. Follow Coffeen Street past the County Fairgrounds and turn right at the Jefferson Community College sign.

    Take Rte. 3E into Jefferson County. In Felts Mills, turn right onto Rte. 283. Take Rte. 283 to Rte 342. Turn right onto Rte. 342. Take Rte. 342 to 81S. Follow 81S to Exit 46, Coffeen Street. Turn left onto Coffeen Street. Go over the bridge over 81. Turn left at the second light.
