Financial Aid Accounts
Financial aid can be used to purchase textbooks, school supplies, JCC merchandise, childcare fees and other items in the bookstore. In addition, financial aid accounts can be used to purchase Cannon Cash or meal plans!
Once established, your financial aid account will remain active for the established financial aid period in the bookstore. This runs from approximately 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after the first day of classes. Please check in the bookstore for specific dates on financial aid availability.
Establishing a financial aid account in the bookstore DOES NOT automatically add funds to your card to be used at other locations on campus. If you wish to establish such an account, you must purchase a meal plan or Cannon Cash.
As of June 14, 2016, all JCC students, faculty, and staff can go to Campus Safety and Security in the Collaborative Learning Center to pick up their SUNYCard, which acts as a JCC photo identification card and provides access to the library, computer lab, fitness center, East Hall, and your financial aid and student loan accounts. The card is also used for meal plans and Cannon Cash.
Your initial SUNYCard is included in your tuition; replacements are available for a fee.
"Cannon Cash" is a pre-paid debit account that you can set up on your SUNYCard! It offers a convenient way to make purchases in the bookstore, The Courtyard and the Corner Cafe, vending machines, and the Student Activities office.
Cannon Cash may be purchased in the bookstore using cash, check, debit or credit card, or any financial aid you have left after purchasing required course materials and textbooks.
To help minimize textbook costs, FSA offers a selection of gently used textbooks. Through our internal buyback program as well as working with faculty and sources in the industry, we make every effort to make as many used textbooks available as possible.
JCC students now have the option to RENT their textbooks, giving them the chance to save up to 60% off the retail price!
Rentals require a valid credit card and a personal email account. See a Bookstore associate for more information!
We apologize for the inconvenience, but FSA cannot guarantee the timely delivery of textbooks shipped internationally due to various Customs restrictions. Please speak to your advisor if you are taking online courses from outside the U.S.!
