Library Services for Community Users
The Melvil Dewey Library serves JCC’s community’s patrons as well as its students, faculty and staff.
Upon receipt of a valid picture ID, the library will issue a “Community Borrower’s Card”, which in turn enables community patrons to borrow our books; use the Internet; and, search articles from the library’s 67 databases. Our online catalog, CannonCat, is available for searching our library’s collections.
Books can be borrowed for 21 days, after which a fine of $0.25 (25 cents) per day will be charged. We also offer IDS (Information Delivery Services) for borrowing materials from other libraries.
Four computers have been set aside specifically for your use. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis with the understanding that our students have first priority. Printing is limited to 10 copies, after which there is a charge of $0.10 (10 cents) per copy. Certain general rules apply for Computer Use and Patron Conduct.
