- MasterFILE Premier
Multi-disciplinary database providing many full-text articles, with emphasis on general, popular magazines. Also includes a large variety of reference sources, images, maps and flags. - General OneFile (provided by the New York State Library) Multi-disciplinary database with full-text articles from periodicals, newspapers, reference books and multimedia sources.
- Wilson Omnifile (provided through NNYLN) A multi-disciplinary database with many full-text articles from scholarly journals and general, popular magazines.

Use for finding citations for articles:
- ArticleFirst
A comprehensive index of periodicals from all academic disciplines, including the majority of our library’s print subscriptions. Very little full-text is available from this database. Used for requesting articles through interlibrary loan.

- Vocational and Career Collection
Focusing on career information, this database provides many full-text articles from several hundred trade and industry related periodicals. - Occupational Outlook Handbook (Evaluated Internet Site) Career information from the U.S. Department of Labor. Describes job responsibilities, working conditions, training and education required, earnings, and anticipated job prospects for a wide range of occupations.
- Career Zone (Evaluated Internet Site) Information on careers, including educational and/or training requirements, job outlook and salary data. Published by the New York State Dept. of Labor.
- New York State Dept. of Labor (Evaluated Internet Site) Occupational projections from the New York State Dept. of Labor.

- LexisNexis Academic Universe Provides full-text articles from major newspapers around the world.
- Custom Newspapers (provided by the New York State Library) Provides full-text articles from U.S. and international newspapers.
- Newspaper Source Plus
Provides full-text articles from over 1500 newspapers. Also includes transcripts from many television and radio news programs. - Black Newspapers provides full-text articles or citations for nine significant U.S. Black newspapers.
- New York State Newspapers (provided by the New York State Library) Provides full-text articles from major New York State newspapers, including the New York Times and Syracuse newspapers.
- America’s News Magazines Provides full-text articles from popular news magazines such as Time, Newsweek, Essence and People.
- Wall Street Journal (PROQUEST edition) Full-text articles from the Eastern Edition of the Wall Street Journal.
- Watertown Daily Times (provided by NNYLN) Also provides articles from the New York Post, Syracuse Post Standard, New York Times, and others. Periodically features Special Reports on current events.
- New York Times Archive Provides complete contents of the New York Times, beginning with the newspaper's first issue in 1851! For the last 3 years, see LexisNexis or Custom Newspapers.
- Northern New York Historical Newspapers (provided by NNYLN) Provides articles from historical newspapers, some dating back as far as the early 1800s. Provided by the Northern New York Library Network.
Current Issues/Topic Help
- CQ Researcher Provides reports on current and controversial issues, giving all sides of an issue and citations to other sources of information. Great for topic selection and focusing. Includes full-text going back to 1991.
- Newsbank Special Reports Articles, links, maps and graphics focused on topics of current interest. Includes content from sources throughout the world to provide a global perspective, current and background information, and statistics.
- Opposing Viewpoints
Provides essays offering in-depth analysis of all sides of many current social issues. Great for topic selection and focusing. - Points of View Reference Center
Provides articles and essays on current and controversial topics. A good source to use when considering all sides of a topic. Includes images, videos, primary documents and radio/TV news transcripts.

- The New England Journal of Medicine
