0.2 Motivation

That sounds hard, why should I bother?

The best reasons relate to your education and future employment - your future employer will assume that you have some of these skills. Any occupation requires you to determine when you need information to make a good decision, and you may be required to gather this information yourself. Further, once you find the information you need to be able to evaluate its quality before you make a decision based on it. You will not want to be responsible for a bad decision based on inaccurate or out-of-date information.

Gaining the skills relating to information literacy will benefit you in all aspects of your life. In addition to the obvious benefit of doing well in your classes, you will have the opportunity to become a better informed: parent, consumer, doctor's patient, voter, etc.
