Online Ticket Sales for Kendrick Lamar Concert Open to General Public on Friday, March 1 at 12:00 p.m.
Verge Campus Tour featuring Kendrick Lamar and special guest, 5 & A Dime, is coming to Jefferson Community College (JCC) on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. Verge Campus Tour, presented by Karmaloop, is hosted by the JCC campus activities board.
Lamar, coming from California, is one of hip hop’s rising stars. He first gained attention in 2010 with the release of his album Overly Dedicated and he has gone on to release hits featuring Drake, Lil’ Wayne, Tech N9ne, Dr. Dre and Busta Rhymes. Lamar started touring in 2010 and quickly rose to number 7 on the Billboard Top 100 R&B Charts for his album. JCC is the last stop on the Karmaloop presents Verge Campus Tour. Within three months of its release, Lamar’s debut album good kid, m.A.A.d City was certified gold in December 2012.
Opening for Kendrick Lamar is 5 & A Dime of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In January 2012, 5 & A Dime released a 5th album entitled #BASSMOB III: The Final Frontier featuring a mix of hip hop and pop vocals. 5 & A Dime singles have not only topped the charts of Hype Machine and Next Big Sound, but also populate the internet creating a large online presence.
Concert tickets will go on sale for JCC students on Friday, February 22 at 12:00 p.m. The general public will be able to purchase tickets beginning Friday, March 1. All seating is general admission and tickets cost $50. JCC students presenting SUNY ID may buy one ticket at a reduced price of $30 in person at the JCC Student Activities office, Room 4-100. To purchase tickets online visit the JCC Box Office. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the JCC Student Activities office, Room 4-100 (McVean Center) or by calling 315-786-2431.
