JCC Announces Promotions, Continuing Appointments and Sabbaticals

Jefferson Community College (JCC) has announced continuing appointments, promotions and sabbatical leaves for faculty and staff.  Continuing appointments, promotions and sabbatical leaves were approved by the Jefferson Community College Board of Trustees on March 6, 2013 and become effective September 1, 2013.

Continuing appointment was granted to the following faculty and staff:  Andrew R. Burgess, learning skills specialist, of Watertown; Mariya Clemons, assistant counselor for financial aid, of Copenhagen; Lisa A. Cooley, assistant professor of nursing, of Watertown; Cynthia E. Lonsbary, instructor of psychology, of Philadelphia; Stacy E. Pratt, instructor of English, of Sackets Harbor; Julie L. Roy, assistant professor of nursing, of Watertown; and Allen J. Speno, retention specialist, of Chaumont. 

Cynthia E. Lonsbary, of Philadelphia, was promoted from instructor to assistant professor of psychology. Stacy E. Pratt, of Sackets Harbor, was promoted from instructor to assistant professor of English.  Joshua D. Hammond, of Watertown, was promoted from instructor to assistant professor of mathematics. Pamela Kaus, of Sackets Harbor, and Ronald G. Theobald, of Watertown, were each promoted from instructor to assistant professor of human services.

Thomas A. Baker, of Watertown, was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of philosophy. Kathryn L. Brownell, of Dexter, and Brian H. Murray, of Sackets Harbor, were each promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of business.

Rebecca S. Riehm, of Sandy Creek, was promoted from associate professor to professor of sociology.  Randy L. Tripp, of Copenhagen, was promoted from associate professor to professor of mathematics.

Elliott, assistant registrar, of Clayton; and John A. Trumbell, continuing education coordinator, of Watertown, each received promotion from grade 3 to grade 5. 

Additionally, the following sabbatical leaves were granted:  Lucinda D. Barbour of Adams Center, associate professor of art, Fall 2013 semester; Jack N. Donato of Watertown, associate professor of computer science, Spring 2014 semester; and Lisa M. Scrivani-Tidd of Alexandria Bay, associate professor of music, Spring 2014 semester.
