Join us in this Applied Happiness Course, where together we will embark on an exciting journey to discover how to sustain a feeling of lasting happiness. We will start by exploring the science of happiness and the exciting advances in positive psychology that will help us better understand the mechanics of our happiness.Together we will come to understand that only by establishing the correct and supportive environment can we guarantee our individual and collective well-being. This Happiness Course provides tangible skills that will enable you to live in the moment, whereby empowering you to better cope with challenges and overcome obstacles in a balanced way. Our collective experience will be interactive, where we can taste firsthand the ideal state of happiness. You will receive new tools learned from the most recent and advanced scientific research on how to accomplish the desired effects for long-lasting happiness. Among the most effective tools used are playful connection games, collaborative workshops and lively Q&A’s. Craig Thornton has been a working playwright and theater director for over twenty years, working intimately with actors in the rehearsal process and through production. He studied acting with the Marketa Kimbrall at NYU’s Tisch conservatory for over a year. This workshop will be on Monday & Wednesday.

Today, the range of voices hired has grown dramatically from the days of announcers. Learn what the pros look for, how to prepare, and where to find work in your area! We’ll discuss industry pros and cons and play samples from working voice professionals. In addition, you’ll have an opportunity to record a short professional script under the direction of our teacher. This class is lots of fun, realistic, and a great first step for anyone interested in the voice over field.
“Marhaban becoom fee dars al Arabia”, translation:Welcome all of you in Arabic class! Are you interested in learning more about Arab culture including language, culture, tradition, and history? The Arabic language dominates an immense geographic area, stretching all the way from Middle East to South Africa. Course materials have been selected to expose students to Arabic culture and language. This class starts at the very beginning level. You will learn the alphabet with rules for vowels and script formation. The instructor’s method enables you to recognize the structure of Arabic, so that you can use your innate ability to learn a foreign language as well as utilize your own style of learning.

JCC offers state of the art fitness equipment, with personal attention to individual’s needs and fitness goals. Participants will receive orientation on fitness equipment, optional physical fitness testing, a body composition test and written exercise program upon request. Learn the three act structure of screenwriting that has worked for decades in both Hollywood blockbusters: The Silence of the Lambs, Jaws, Tootsie, and Titanic and Independent Films like Capote and Juno. You will be able to dissect any film using a simple beat by beat plan and then in turn develop an outline which can serve as a blue print for a successful script. Exercises will include: How to tell a story visually, Movie dialogue, High Concept storytelling, Character Development and accepted screenwriting format. Craig Thornton has a MFA in dramatic writing. This workshop will be held on Monday and Wednesdays.
Social Media Marketing is both exciting and daunting. Using principles of marketing, this workshop will explore the current social media platforms and the best ways to utilize them in your internet campaign. Ideas, principles and skills can be applied to your small business, the marketing department of a larger business or for your own self-promotion. The instructor has taught in the Internet Marketing program at Fortis College Online and authored the current class on Social Media Marketing that is currently being taught there. This workshop is on Tuesday & Thursday.
