Program to feature Hands-on Demonstrations

JCC will host Careers in Public Safety Day on Friday, October 12 at 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Jules Center Commons. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

The Public Safety Program is designed to provide information about career options in the fields of criminal justice, law enforcement, emergency management, homeland security, paramedic and fire protection. Attendees will learn more about the current job market, hiring practices, salaries, educational requirements and can engage in one-on-one conversation with public safety professionals. The expo will feature various hands-on demonstrations including a firearms training simulator and a firefighting obstacle course. College admission and financial aid information will be available and instructors will be on hand to answer questions about JCC’s programs.

JCC offers associate’s degrees and certificate programs in criminal justice, fire protection technology and paramedic. Students majoring in criminal justice can continue their education on JCC’s campus through the Jefferson Higher Education Center initiative and earn a bachelor’s degree from partner institution Keuka College.
