JCC Testing Site for Paramedic Advanced Psychomotor Exam

Area paramedics may want to prepare now to advance their skills to the next level by taking the national registry advanced psychomotor exam locally next summer. Jefferson Community College (JCC) is now an official testing site for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and will administer the advanced psychomotor examination for paramedics in June 2014. According to the NREMT website, currently the advanced level practical exam is offered in only two locations in New York State – Wappingers Fall (Dutchess County) and Watertown.

The advanced psychomotor exam for paramedics will cover these skill areas: bleeding control and shock management; cardiac arrest management and automated external defibrillation (AED); dynamic cardiology; intravenous therapy-intravenous bolus medications; joint immobilization, long bone immobilization; oral station; patient assessment-medical; patient assessment-trauma; pediatric intraosseous infusion; pediatric respiratory compromise; pediatric (over two years of age) ventilatory management; spinal immobilization (seated patient); spinal immobilization (supine patient); static cardiology; supraglottic airway device; and ventilatory management-adult.
