Weird sounds are coming to Jefferson Community College! On Friday, September 5 comedian Michael Winslow will astonish audience members with his vocal talents at 8:00 p.m. in Robert R. and Jean S. Sturtz Theater. Opening for Winslow is comedian and actress Julie McCullough. Celebrity Comedy Night is open to the public.

While coined nicknames the “Human Sound Effects Machine” and “Man of 10,000 Sound Effects,” Winslow is most known for his role as Sgt. Larvelle “Motor Mouth” Jones on the 1984 released comedy film series, Police Academy. Winslow lent his vocals to mischievous character Stripe in the 1984 horror comedy film, Gremlins, and played a part on the 1987 science fiction parody film, Spaceballs. Whether inducing images of a wet soggy sneaker, tingling spines by imitating scratches on a chalkboard or conjuring awe with the roar of a jet place, Winslow’s realistic sounds are sure to impress all.

Actress and stand-up comedian, Julie McCullough, is known for her role as Julie Costello, fiancé to Mike Seaver (actor Kirk Cameron), in the first season of television sitcom Growing Pains.  She has made guest appearances on shows including Who’s the Boss, Golden Girls and Beverly Hills 90210 along with reoccurring appearances on The Drew Carey Show, High Tide and Pacific Blue. She has taken her comedy performances to club franchises such as Laugh Factory, Hollywood Improv and Palms Hotel and Casino.

General admission is $5.  Tickets are on sale now.  Purchase tickets online; in person at the JCC Student Activities Center, Room 4-100, McVean Center; or call 315-786-2431. JCC students who present their SUNY ID will receive one free ticket.
