Leave your Mark on Campus with an Engraved Commemorative Paver

The Jefferson Community College Foundation has launched a “Building a Stronger Foundation: Brick by Brick” fundraising campaign and invites community members and Jefferson students, alumni, faculty and staff to be the first to purchase a personalized commemorative paver. Engraved pavers will be placed in the area surrounding the Haas Clocktower, a focal point at the center of campus. Donors may choose to engrave their own name or can honor a graduate, friend or favorite professor, remember a loved one, celebrate a special occasion or thank someone special.

Individuals can make a donation of $150, $250 or $500 to have a name of their choosing engraved in pavers that range in size from 4” x 8” to 6” x 9” to 12”x 12”.   Corporations may include a logo on 12” x 12” paver for a donation of $1000.   Jefferson graduates will receive a free Alumni Association membership along with their paver order.

Donations are currently being accepted and the first installation will occur in summer of 2014.  The paver campaign is slated to run through the end of the 2014 academic year.  Proceeds will serve the mission of the Foundation, including scholarships and campus initiatives.  Annually, the Jefferson Foundation distributes nearly $300,000 in scholarships to Jefferson students.

“It is an opportunity to support this amazing institution and its students while leaving your personal mark on campus,” said Alicia M. Dewey, executive director of the Foundation.

The “Brick by Brick” campaign received its first donation on October 3 from College president Carole McCoy who presented the Foundation with a donation of $500.

“During our most recent Completion Week activities, former and current students shared with community members the challenges they face in completing their degrees.  Not surprisingly these challenges frequently included finances as well as the need for support services such as tutoring,” said Dr. McCoy.  “This campaign will help us to meet these student needs.”

The Jefferson Foundation hopes to engrave 1,500 stones during the campaign.
