JCC Announces Co-Athletes of the Week

Freshman center-fullback, Kyle J. Miller, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) men’s soccer team and sophomore right side opposite, Kierstin A. Burke, of the JCC volleyball team were named JCC co-athletes of the week for the week ending October 20, 2013.  JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Victory Promotions.

Kyle, a 2013 graduate of Bishop Kearney High School, Rochester, is majoring in criminal justice at Jefferson.  Miller’s accomplishments on the pitch this past week include a strong performance on defense against #1 ranked Herkimer County Community College which held them to 4 goals. Kyle denied multiple goal scoring opportunities by some of the best players in the country. He won multiple 50/50 battles in the air while at the same time organizing the defense with great confidence. Kyle has an expectation to improve himself every time he steps on the field and has shown that throughout the 2013 season.

Kierstin, a 2013 graduate of South Jefferson Central School, is majoring in humanities and social sciences at Jefferson.  Burke was a steady force for the team over the weekend compiling 24 service points, 20 kills, and 13 digs.  She helped lead the team to defeat #1 ranked Jamestown Community College in 4 sets.  Kierstin is the silent workhorse on the team and she refuses to let the ball drop.
