JCC Students Awarded Italian Arts Scholarship to Study Abroad

Jefferson Community College (JCC) Foundation honors the four recipients of the 2016 Italian Arts Scholarship award, made possible by the late Mrs. Frederick H. (Aline) Taylor of Watertown. The four student recipients of the JCC Italian Arts Scholarship, pictured above with Art Department Chair, Lucinda Barbour, are: (left to right) Jarah A. Papin of Redwood, Charlotte J. Costantino of Clayton, Kaetlyn C. Hanlin of Watertown, and Melena L. Johnson of Mountain View, AR.

During their time in Florence the recipients will study studio art and art history courses for 4-weeks in July 2016 at the Scuola Lorenzo de’ Medici. Before departing on their trip, the scholarship winners are also required to take a pre-travel course in Italian language along with a Safe Travel workshop in June.

The Italian Arts Scholarship covers the cost of travel, tuition, lodging, books, art supplies and meals for the four chosen students to study abroad. This is the final time this scholarship will be awarded.
