JCC to hold Take Back the Night on April 18

On Monday, April 18, 2016 the Jefferson Community College (JCC) Health and Wellness Center will host its annual Take Back the Night (TBTN) event at 7:00 p.m. in the Robert R. and Jean S. Sturtz Theater. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.

An internationally observed event to raise awareness of violence against women, TBTN at JCC will feature a march around campus, a panel of guest speakers, and a resource fair. A string of student decorated t-shirts bearing personal messages that speak to violence against women, known as the Clothesline Project, will be on display in the lobby of Sturtz Theater.

Guest speakers include Jefferson County District Attorney Kristyna S. Mills; Licensed Mental Health Counselor Readjustment Counselor, Jennifer Bullock, from the Department of Veterans Affair Watertown Vet Center; representatives from the Victims Assistance Center; and JCC student Alyssa Draper-Juarez.
