This year the Jefferson Community College (JCC) Spirit of Jefferson Award was presented to the JCC North Country Community Cup (NCCC) team at the College’s annual Recognition Ceremony held in May. The Spirit of Jefferson Award was established by college president Carole A. McCoy in 2011 to recognize a campus team that demonstrates cooperative effort and achieves exemplary results.

In its 25th consecutive year, the College’s NCCC team provides the ultimate opportunity to cultivate leadership and encourage fellowship with colleagues and community members while promoting physical fitness. Over the years, more than 120 members of the Jefferson campus community, along with 30-40 family members, have participated on the JCC NCCC team. Spring 2016 marked the 5th year JCC hosted the NCCC event that encompasses between 400 and 800 community members at large. With the involvement of team coordinators, event coordinators and representation on the NCCC steering committee, Jefferson avows to keep the event live and buoyant. Additionally, members of the JCC NCCC team developed a Saturday night volleyball program to foster fellowship, encourage practice and offer year round recreation.

The following is a list of past recipient of the Spirit of Jefferson Award.
