JCC to hold Nursing Degree Information Session on Nov. 15

The Jefferson Community College (JCC) nursing degree program maintains a high standard of commitment to prepare students to become registered nurses. Graduates of JCC’s nursing program receive an associate in applied science (A.A.S.) degree and are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for registered nurses.JCC’s nursing program is ranked among the top programs in New York State!

JCC will hold a nursing degree information session for prospective students on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the David G. Gregor Building, Room 5-201. Attendees will learn about pre-requisite coursework, admission requirements, the College application process, and financial aid.

Accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, JCC’s nursing program is available in two formats. Students may choose to take classes during the traditional weekday or classes offered on the weekend with minimal weekday commitment. While the weekend option is usually of interest to adult students who juggle work and family commitments, anyone may apply. Both formats require two years of study. Applications are due January 30 for the nursing program traditional weekday option that begins each fall semester. October 1 is the application deadline for the weekend option that begins each spring semester.

Pre-requisite coursework must be completed before being admitted to the JCC nursing degree program and courses may be taken at JCC. Space is limited and to ensure a spot in the JCC nursing program, applicants are encouraged to apply early.

Contact JCC’s admissions office at 315-786-2277 or email admissions@sunyjefferson.edu to inquire about the upcoming information session. The session is free and open to anyone with an interest in a nursing career!
