Complaint Procedures for Distance Education Students Residing Outside of New York State

Jefferson Community College is committed to resolving student grievances, complaints and concerns in an expeditious, fair and amicable manner.

Distant Education Students:

Students taking online classes offered by JCC while residing in states other than New York should attempt to resolve any issues or complaints with the College first.  The College's complaint procedures, including the Grade Grievance Procedure, as well as procedures for complaints concerning bias and discrimination are available in the College's online catalog.

• Policies concerning safeguarding the confidentiality of student records:

If you live outside of New York while attending JCC, in many cases you can file a complaint in the state where you are residing: For a list of appropriate agencies operating in each state, please review the following:  Student Complaint Information by State and Agency, as compiled and updated by the State Higher Education Executive Officers(SHEEO), and it will be updated as additional information becomes available.
