JCC Music Ensembles to Perform on Dec. 6 and 7

Jefferson Community College students along with members of the community will perform for the public during the evenings of December 6 and 7 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Sturtz Theater. Admission is free.

On Tuesday, December 6 the Jefferson Singers (the college’s official choir) and Jazz Rock Ensemble will spread yuletide cheer with a variety of selections including some seasonal. The Jefferson Singers will perform the premiere of a student-composed arrangement of “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” by Humanities and Social Sciences major Liam M. Zaffora-Reeder of Watertown. The Jefferson Singers are under the direction of Sue A. Gamet, Rodman. The Jazz Rock Ensemble will perform a variety of jazz and seasonal favorites, under the direction of Daniel L. Mosher, Carthage.

Let your imagination paint visions of holiday glee to the harmony of the JCC Orchestra Ensemble and the JCC Wind Ensemble on Wednesday, December 7. Under the direction of Mr. Mosher, students and community members will perform a medley of selections.

The Jefferson Singers, Jazz Rock Ensemble, JCC Orchestra Ensemble, and JCC Wind Ensemble are credit-bearing humanities courses open to anyone. Community members, not seeking college credit, may join the music ensembles by registering with payment through the JCC Continuing Education Division, 315-786-2233. Individuals, age 60 and over, may qualify for a tuition waiver to join an ensemble for free by contacting Enrollment Services, 315-786-2271.
