JCC Ranked #6 in Nation’s Top Ten Military Friendly® Schools

Jefferson Community College (JCC), designated 2017 Military Friendly® School by Victory Media, is ranked #6 among all Military Friendly® designated community colleges across the country.

Military Friendly® Awards, new this year, showcase the most effective programs of more than 1,200 designated institutions with 541 of them recognized for excellence in categories of top ten, gold, silver, and bronze. Criteria for Military Friendly® Awards extends beyond the benchmarks used to determine designation to measure the depth of just ‘how military friendly’ a school is among other Military Friendly® designated institutions. Jefferson is ranked #6 and is the highest ranked community college of the State University of New York (SUNY). At the top of the list is Mercer County Community College, New Jersey, ranked #1 followed by CUNY Hostos Community College, New York, ranked #2.

“All of our Military Friendly® award recipients set the standard for excellence,” said Daniel Nichols, Chief Product Officer of Victory Media and head of Military Friendly® development. “They offer exceptional examples of what it means not just to build a program that meets federal requirements, but one that serves the military and veteran community from classrooms to careers.”

Victory Media surveys thousands of institutions to capture the best practices in recruitment and retention of veterans and military service members and their families. Jefferson exceeds the benchmark standards set by Victory Media in areas of admission and orientation, academic policies and compliance, graduate and career, military student support and retention, culture and commitment, and financial aid/assistance.
