Celebrating 10-Years! Super Science Saturday to be held Feb. 4

Jefferson Community College (JCC) will celebrate 10-years of its annual Super Science Saturday (SSS) event on February 4, 2017. The exploration of math and science event for kids in grades 5-8 and their family members will take place on JCC’s campus from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Birthday cake will be served!    

SSS showcases interactive exhibits including a giant 20-foot long, walk through colon exhibit kids won’t want to miss. Students will have the opportunity to explore and see how much fun science can be by participating in hands-on demonstrations. JCC faculty, assisted by current students, will give demonstrations in zoo keeping, chemistry, biology, geology, math, engineering and health-related careers. SSS will feature a chemistry magic show presented by James Peploski of Clarkson University and a laser and rainbow show presented by Thomas C. Altman. Several community organizations will be present to share career information and provide interactive activities with students.

SSS will take place at JCC in the Jules Center, McVean Student Center, Guthrie Science Building, and the David G. Gregor Building. Concessions, parking, a campus map and programs will be available at the event.
