New Student Trustee Elected to the JCC Board of Trustees

Michael J. Lennox, Adams, has been elected by the student body at Jefferson Community College to serve as student trustee on the Jefferson Community College (JCC) Board of Trustees for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Lennox is entering his final year at Jefferson and is a humanities and social sciences major.  He anticipates graduating from Jefferson in May 2019. Lennox is a student leader on campus in many facets.  He works as a student ambassador in Enrollment Services, assisting prospective students, working events and guiding campus tours.  Lennox currently holds a 4.0 GPA and was awarded the 2018 Outstanding First-Year Student Award in the Enrollment Management and Student Life Division. Lennox is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and is a member of the Honors Program at Jefferson.  He has volunteered at several campus events including Super Science Saturday and most recently the Presidential Inauguration events.

Lennox is a 2017 South Jefferson High School graduate. He received the Maynard P. Wilson "Best Male Student" scholarship his senior year, was a member of student government and secretary for the group, and was a member of National Honor Society.  For the past two summers, he has worked as a parks and recreation assistant for the City of Watertown, helping to organize activities for local youth. 

Lennox’s first official Board of Trustees meeting was July 9, 2018.
