Commemorative Series of Ornaments by Artist Thelma Hamilton Celebrate JCC's 50th Anniversary

Watertown artist Thelma L. Hamilton has designed four Jefferson Community College ornaments as part of a commemorative "Four Seasons Series" in celebration of the College’s 50th anniversary.  The ornaments are available individually or by collection from the Jefferson Community College (JCC) Foundation with a portion of proceeds to benefit the College Foundation.  Each glass ornament is hand-painted by Mrs. Hamilton.

The four ornament designs depict the iconic Haas clock tower on Jefferson’s campus in Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.    In celebration of the College’s graduating class of 2011, the Summer ornament can also be customized with JCC’s famous Cannon and can be personalized with ‘Class of 2011’ if desired.   Each ornament is adorned with a burgundy ribbon with ‘Celebrating 50 Years of Learning and Changing Lives’ in gold print.

The Spring ornament (pictured) was released on April 27, 2011. The Summer ornament will be released on May 19; the Fall ornament on September 2; and the Winter ornament at the College’s official celebration marking 50 years on its anniversary date of November 7, 2011.  The Jefferson anniversary ornaments are limited edition and will only be available through December of  2011.

Orders for ornaments will be taken at the Pinning Ceremony on May 19, Commencement Ceremony on May 20 and at several upcoming events on campus.  Ornaments can also be ordered by calling the JCC Foundation directly at 315-786-2291, or by downloading the ornament order form and faxing it to JCC at 315-786-0158. Your donation of $25 per ornament includes personalization (if desired), gift box, ornament stand and shipping direct from Thelma Hamilton Designs.

Thelma L. Hamilton started her line of hand painted ornaments over 20 years ago with a vision of creating a family heirloom, a celebration of family remembrances preserved on hand-painted glass ornaments that would be treasured for generations.   She creates her own designs and freehand paints each ornament to celebrate holidays, births, new homes, weddings, professional accomplishments, and more.  She has created custom designs for large families and corporate gifts and her ornaments can be found in shops and homes across the United States and around the world in Scotland, France, Germany, Japan, China, Argentina, Canada and most recently Austria.

The Jefferson Community College Foundation is dedicated to building relationships and resources which will expand, enrich and enhance educational opportunities for students at Jefferson Community College.
