Treat Your Volunteers! Celebration of Service Luncheon Mar. 30

Jefferson Community College (JCC) and the Greater Watertown North Country (GWNC) Chamber of Commerce will co-host “A Celebration of Service” luncheon on Wednesday, March 30 at 12:15 p.m. in the Walker Instructional Dining Room, McVean Building, at JCC.Volunteerism and civic responsibility is integral to the quality of life and sustainability of any community, including the North Country. If you volunteer in our community, please join JCC and the GWNC Chamber of Commerce for a luncheon to celebrate the vital connection between a community and those dedicated to serving it.

The Celebration of Service luncheon will feature a keynote address by John B. Johnson, general manager of Northern New York Newspaper Corporation, the largest division of the Johnson Newspaper Corporation. Johnson is responsible for the strategic planning and overall operation of a portfolio of 11 daily and weekly newspapers and their respective websites. Within the community, Johnson serves on the board of directors for the Greater Watertown North Country Chamber of Commerce and the Watertown Family YMCA as well as the board of governors for the Black River Valley Club. Johnson holds an M.B.A. from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Illinois and a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University in Connecticut.

The luncheon buffet of stuffed shells, meatballs, garden salad, and dessert costs $15 per person. Reservations and payment are required by Wednesday, March 23. Please make checks payable to Jefferson Community College and mail them to the Office for Community Engagement, Jefferson Community College, 1220 Coffeen Street, Watertown, NY, 13601-1897.
