SturtzStock at JCC Nov. 20—Tickets on Sale

You don’t have to leave town to experience out-of-town bands! The Student Activities Center at Jefferson Community College (JCC) will bring them to you during the SturtzStock music festival on Saturday, November 20 at 5:00 p.m. in the Robert R. and Jean S. Sturtz Theateron campus. The opening band for SturtzStock is Watertown-based Like Trainwrecks.

Ontario-based band Enter the Haggis formed in early 2000 and plays a mixture of genres including Celtic, bluegrass, mainstream rock, folk, and jazz. Albums include Gutter Anthems (2009), Casualties of Retail (2005), and Let the Wind Blow High (1999), to name a few. The band performed on Live with Regis and Kelly in 2007 and on A&E Breakfast With the Arts in 2009.

VersaEmerge, a Florida-based rock band, released their first full length album, Fixed at Zero, in June 2010. VersaEmerge has played with larger acts including Boys Like Girls, We The Kings, and Cobra Starship, and has appeared on MTV’s World of Jenks.

Alesana, a hardcore quintet based in North Carolina, formed in 2004 and has released three albums: The Emptiness (2010), Where Myth Fades To Legend (2008), and On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax (2007).

The Tennessee-based band Framing Hanley is most popular for their single “Hear Me Now.” Framing Hanley albums include A Promise to Burn (2010) and The Moment (2007).

All seating is general admission. Tickets cost $40 for the general public and $20 for JCC students presenting their SUNY ID card. Tickets can be purchased by calling the JCC student activities ticket hotline at 315-786-2431 or in person in Room 4-100 of the McVean Building.
