Get a Dose of Laughter at JCC’s Comedy Night Oct. 21

Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects and Jefferson Community College (JCC) Student Activities Center (SAC) has the right dose for you! On Thursday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the Robert R. and Jean S. Sturtz Theater, SAC will host Comedy Night with “Saved by the Bell” TV sensation Dustin Diamond. Opening for Diamond is Ron Josol, first place act at the LOL (Laugh Out Loud) Comedy Festival in Ontario, which aired on Showtime USA.

Diamond is best known from his acting days in the late 1980s and 1990s as Samuel “Screech” Powers, the comical character on the NBC teen-oriented sitcoms “Saved By the Bell,” “Saved By The Bell: The College Years,” and “Saved By The Bell: A New Class.” In 1993, Diamond began his career as a stand-up comedian. performing at various clubs and college campuses. In 2009, Diamond released Behind the Bell, his story of being a former child star, containing personal accounts from behind the scenes of “Saved By the Bell.” Diamond has made many appearances on game and reality shows, including NBC’s “The Weakest Link,” FOX’s “Celebrity Boxing 2,” and VH1’s “Celebrity Fit Club.” He appeared in the 2003 film “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star” and provides commentary on TruTV’s “The Smoking Gun Presents: Worlds Dumbest.”

General admission is $5 in advance or $8 at the door. JCC students presenting SUNY ID will receive two free tickets.
