Calling Area Musicians—JCC Orchestra/Wind Ensemble Now Forming

The Community Orchestra and the Wind Ensemble at Jefferson Community College (JCC) will begin fall semester rehearsals in September at the College’s Sturtz Theater.

Both the orchestra and wind ensemble are open to area musicians of all ages and levels of experience. Interested community members are invited to join either or both ensembles. There is no audition for this program, although a selection process may be necessary to achieve balance in some areas. In previous years, the groups have been comprised of high school students, college students, active and retired music teachers, members of the 10th Mountain Division Band, and other community members.

Under the baton of conductor Daniel Mosher, the Community Orchestra and Wind Ensemble will study and perform a broad selection of musical works. Rehearsals will take place Wednesday evenings September 15 through December 8, concluding with a free winter concert for the community on Wednesday, December 15. There will be no class November 24.

Come join fellow musicians in another semester of making music for the community! To register (PDF) or learn more, please contact the JCC Continuing Education office at 315-786-2438.
