Join Us! JCC Orchestra/Wind Ensemble Concert May 12

Jefferson Community College (JCC) orchestra and wind ensemble invites community members to their annual spring concert on Wednesday, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sturtz Theater. Admission to the community concert is free.

The orchestra and wind ensemble, comprised of area musicians and community members of all ages, is under the baton of conductor Donald R. Johnson. Mr. Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Florida State University’s School of Music and a Master of Science degree in adult education from Elmira College. Mr. Johnson serves as Jefferson Community College’s Director of Military Programs at Fort Drum.

Joining the JCC orchestra ensemble is the 4th grade Knickerbocker Elementary School choir. Under the direction of Nancy Boynton, music teacher at Knickerbocker Elementary school, students will perform a new work by Dorothy Chang entitled “The Erie Canal.”
