Ladouceur, Shockley and Algie Named JCC Athletes of the Week

Sophomore outfielder Andrew D. Ladouceur of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) baseball team, sophomore mid-fielder Danielle E. Shockley of the JCC women’s lacrosse team, and sophomore Richard J. Algie of the JCC golf team were named athletes of the week for the week ending April 26, 2010. JCC’s athlete of the week program is sponsored by Victory Promotions.

Ladouceur, a 2008 graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy, is majoring in criminal justice at Jefferson. Andrew’s accomplishments on the field this past week include hitting 9–19, with 7 runs scored, 4 RBI, 3 stolen bases, and 2 triples. He had the tying triple and scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th against Hudson Valley Community College. Andrew also pitched 4 scoreless innings against Hudson Valley, allowing only 3 earned runs, struck out 3, and had only 2 walks.

 

Shockley, a 2008 graduate of Immaculate Heart Central, is majoring in humanities and social sciences at Jefferson. Danielle is a mid-fielder who makes team transitions work by carrying the ball and fighting for ground balls. She is one of the unsung heroes on the women’s lacrosse team.

 

 

 

 

Algie, a 2008 graduate of South Jefferson Central School, is majoring in childhood education at Jefferson. Richard’s accomplishments on the course this past week include finishing with medalist honors shooting 72 at Adirondack Community College’s tournament. He also shot an 81 at the Cayuga Tournament and an 81 at the Jefferson Invitational Tournament this past weekend.
