Administrative Professionals Seminar at JCC—RSVP by Apr. 14
Do you have the recording skills necessary to depict underlying messages that form the big picture? Do you spend more time than desired preparing minutes for distribution? Then the How to Take Great Minutes seminar is for you! Learn how to master meeting details and make your minutes more proficient at the seminar onWednesday, April 21 from12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., beginning with lunch in the Walker Instructional Dining Room in the McVean Center at Jefferson Community College. Hosted by the JCC Continuing Education Division, the seminar is in observation of Administrative Professionals Week.
Presenter Mary Schechter, President of Next Step Consultants, will show attendees how to become whole listeners, stellar observers, and clear channels able to capture the specific details while being the eyes and ears of any meeting. Seminar topics include note structure, templates and using the SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound) system to advance existing skills to the next level.
Schechter is a certified Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner, certified business professional through the International Business Training Association, and professional in human resources through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She has developed two certificate programs—supervision for managers and customer service—at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Onondaga Community College. Next Step Consultants specializes in taking businesses to the next level by maximizing organizational effectiveness, employee skill potential, and personal accountability. Schechter specializes in areas of leadership and peak performance and her experience includes work with companies such as AT&T, Mohawk/National Grid, Syracuse University, Philips Broadband Networks, and Lockheed Martin.
The cost to attend the seminar is $45 and includes lunch.
