JCC Stormwater Management Training Workshop—Registration Deadline March 9
The Jefferson Community College Continuing Education Division will hold a Stormwater Management Training workshop for developers, contractors, and subcontractors on Saturday, March 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Jules Center, Room 6-002.
Under the New York State (NYS) Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Pollutant Discharge Elimination System, Permit No. GP-0-10-001, certified construction sites must have one individual trained in stormwater management on-site who is responsible for implementation of the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan and at least one trained individual on site daily when soil disturbance activities are being performed. Additionally, developers must have a qualified inspector conduct regular site inspections in accordance with Permit No. GP-0-10-001. Training is not required for certified professionals in erosion and sediment control, professional engineers and landscape architects.
The JCC Stormwater Management Training workshop provides four hours of NYS DEC required training in the principles and practices of erosion and sediment control good for three years. The workshop is taught by Jo-Anne Faulkner, Water Quality Specialist, Oneida County Soil and Water Conservation District. Upon completion, participants will receive a NYS DEC stormwater training certificate and wallet card. Registration fee is $95 and includes the cost of training materials. The deadline to register is March 9, 2010.
