JCC Clubs and Organizations Descriptions

SDAC | Social Cultural Committee | Clubs/Organizations

JCC encourages its student body to join or form clubs that support or enhance academic programs or to pursue particular interests. The following lists represent clubs which are currently active or have been active recently. Those who are interested in starting a new club or have an interest in any of the following groups should contact the advisor by e-mail. Advisors are listed on the SG Web Page and Club Blackboard site, more information is available at the Student Development and Activities Center, Room 4-100, in the McVean Student Center.


Cannon

The JCC student newspaper.


The Computer Club

An organization of students interested in a better understanding of computers, in making more time to experiment with computers outside of class.


Criminal Justice Club

A group of students interested in the criminal justice/law enforcement professions.


Dionysian Players

The College theater group provides activities for students interested in theater and the performing arts.


European Excursion Club

Student group formed to foster a spirit of cultural awareness and discovery through travel.


Human Services Club

A group of students interested in the human services field or related fields that participates in community activities and attends a regional conference in the New England area.


Institute of Management Accountants (IMA)-Student Chapter

A voluntary association of the IMA members enrolled in an institution of higher education operating under the sponsorship of an IMA chapter interested in furthering the objectives of the IMA, especially in matters of concern to students.


KMB Gaming Club

"Bringing competitive events to the masses."


Office Technology Association

A group of students interested in the secretarial/word processing field.


Paralegal Student Organization

A group of students interested in the legal field. Discussions are held to discuss matters of common interest with professionals in the field of law.


Phi Theta Kappa

A national two-year college scholastic honorary society whose purpose is to promote scholarship, develop character and leadership, and to cultivate an intellectual climate at the College. Membership is by invitation only. Tau Xi is the name of the campus chapter.


Science Fiction/Fantasy Club

An organization of students interested in the various genres of science fiction.


Ski Club

For students interested in winter activities such as downhill and cross country skiing through organized ski trips and membership in a local ski resort.


Spanish Club

Got culture? Explore Hispanic cultures with the Spanish club. Travel to a Spanish speaking country!


Student Art Association

An organization who creates an artistic outlet for JCC students and showcases the creative efforts of its members.


Student Engineering Society

The organization commits to a better understanding of engineering science through competition, while enlightening the minds of future engineers with financial and academic support..


Student Nurses Organization

Organized to enhance the understanding and awareness of all the different areas of nursing studies, increase wellness concepts in the community, and provide support for students in the program. Also networks state and nationwide with other nursing students, and works with non-profit health care agencies in the community for service activities.


Writer's Club

The Writer's Club is an opportunity for students to exercise, promote and explore creative expression through the written word. Students share their creative works and help organize readings, donation drives and other community events.
